Our desire when we study the Word of God is that we Grow In Faith Together. We share the gift of faith with one another after each worshiping God and enjoying fellowship we honor God in the G.I.F.T.
The Women’s Bible study group meets year-round. We use the NIV Serendipity Bible, but you can bring your favorite Bible to use.
We have covered topical Bible studies, used the Whole Bible Project studies focusing on books of the Bible, Bible studies from Northwestern Lutheran Publishing House, and the “Felt-Need Courses” from the Serendipity Bible itself. After our study, we take prayer requests from members.
Serendipity is what happens when two or more get together and share their lives and the Holy Spirit does something beautiful when you least expect it. “Build up one another in the body of Christ.”
K4 through 4th-grade students are invited into the lower level for a snack, a Bible lesson, and an activity or two. Contact Pastor Steinberg to learn more or just come Sundays.
Parents and middle school students, you are all welcome to join the GIFT Bible study upstairs during the same time. We look forward to your participation.
Adult and Child Discipleship are paused during holidays and special events during the year.
"Man shall not live on bread alone"
Luke 4:4 Bible Study meets on the second and fourth Wednesday of every month at 10:00 AM
The Men’s Bible study group meets year-round. We use modern English translations such as HIV, ESV, and EHV Bible, but you can bring your favorite Bible.
We cover topical Bible studies, focus on specific books or people of the Bible, and topical scriptural studies based on the group's needs or desires for mutual growth.
Our commitment to mutual growth is rooted in the phrase “iron sharpens iron” found in Proverbs 27:17: “As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.” There is a mutual benefit in the rubbing of two iron blades together; the edges become sharper, making the knives more efficient in their task to cut and slice. Likewise, the Word of God is a “double-edged sword” (Hebrews 4:12), and it is with this that we are to sharpen one another—in times of meeting, fellowship, or any other interaction.
Growth Groups are small groups of adults who meet in homes, at church, or other mutually agreed upon places weekly to study God's Word, share, and support one another in their Christian lives. These groups, consisting of up to but no more than 16 adults (10-14 is our goal for each group), are a place where we can find Christian support and upliftment. They meet on various days and times of the week, with meetings lasting for approximately 90 minutes. Each meeting is not just about Bible study and fellowship, but also about the power of prayer and the encouragement it brings. Together, we establish relationships and grow towards Christian maturity.
Acts 5:42 gives us a window into what church was like after Jesus’ death and resurrection… “And every day, in the temple and from house to house, they did not cease teaching and preaching that the Christ is Jesus.” The early Christians had large and small gatherings, so it is at Fairview Lutheran Church.
